ThermalCUBEs™ have NO moving parts! Relying on physics for its functions, ThermalCUBE™ is placed at individual properties and utilize the engineered utility equipment systems of the building infrastructure to facilitate integration, absorption, and conversion of electrical power and store it as thermal energy for later use in the building. This distributed demand creates comfort reliability and lower costs within the property.

When used for Demand Side Management (DSM) applications, utility companies and Independent System Operators (ISOs) often reimburse for the equipment. Upon demand, either from the local utility or the revolutionary programmed DSM Power Saver™, ThermalCUBE™ power storage system is "charged", (frozen) using low (or no) cost off-peak nighttime electrical power, enhancing Utilities’ DSM programs.  The stored thermal energy is later available for use during peak demand times, when the cost of power is at a premium - shifting your daytime peak load demand power to less expensive nighttime power.


With the ThermalCUBE™ power storage system in place, the non-power cycle times of progressive utility companies previously achieved by radio controlling 15-20 minute shutdowns of individual HVAC compressors, can be increased from several minutes to several hours of power shift without any interruption of thermal (cooling) comfort. ThermalCUBE's™ unique thermal system process effectively achieves the highly sought balance of Demand Side Management (DSM) for utility companies by using on-site conversion with distributed demand storage.

Building owner
By removing the individual Building's thermal load demands from the peak daytime demand, building owners will realize as much as a 40% shift of power demand from daytime to night-time or direct renewable sourcing. What this means is that the peak-demand billing rate virtually disappears- drastically reducing the monthly- peak costs billing cycle with dramatic savings for the consumer. Utility Company
When employed throughout the service area, the utility company (aggregators) realize Reduction of Demand from each building on a basis daily. When deployed throughout the entire service area, this equates to significant Reduction of Peak Increment purchases, which often cost more than 10,000% of the average mean low cost of power acquisition. With Lower Operation Costs the aggregators experience less volatibility and stronger financial health. Additionally, by using ThermalCUBEs™ to integrate Renewables directly into their local grid without hot spots the aggregator can easily comply with and implement their threshold REC requirements by supplying customers with direct- renewable powered AC or Heat energy use.

Independent System Operator (ISO)
As traffic controllers of the regional Grids, ISOs realize great relief from ThermalCUBEs™ Integration of Renewables without hot spots or congestions as they alleviate one of the larger current issues on the Grid. This easing of congestion makes for smoother controls by having targeted dedicated use locations for the renewable power, rather than having to mix-in with the existing flows and uses. ThermalCUBEs™ SHIFTing of time source creates Tranquility of regional Grid operations through taming the Grid and reducing its over demand of the delivery system during the daytime. ThermalCUBE™ Battery power storage systems are small, modular, and scaleable and can be installed in any new or existing construction of Public, Commercial, Industrial, or Residential use buildings of any size by adding additional CUBEs.  Additionally this system can enhance Utilities’ DSM programs, such as Austin Energy’s Power Partner program where AE uses a SuperStat™ to cycle off compressors via a radio-controlled receiver when the local power plants are approaching peak demand. With ThermalCUBE™ thermal storage in place, the non-power cycle times can be increased from just a few minutes to several hours- without any interruption of cooling comfort.  

It is well known that the typical Electrical utility has an abundance of electrical generating capacity available at night while operating at or beyond capacity during the day.  Peak demand for electrical power varies between utilities, but generally occurs at the hottest time of the day.  Typically between 2 pm to 8 pm, air conditioning accounts for the majority of peak electrical needs in the home or office. Nationally, Air conditioning is the leading cause of the Demand Side imbalance. Additionally in many areas that have significant amounts of wind-power, 80% of wind power generation occurs between 10 pm and 1 am, creating a normally valuable (renewable) commodity during the least desirable sale time.  By converting excess nighttime electrical energy into a thermally stored on-site resource available during peak demand periods, renewable energy integration and the highly sought balance between electrical production and demand can be achieved.


Current utility trends are to waste excess off-peak electrical energy, sell it at a loss, or divert it to thermal storage for peak air conditioning use within District Chilled Water loops. Equipment for district systems is expensive and not scaleable to less than several thousand tons of cooling. Uses are also limited to larger scale buildings within the urban core areas due to economics.  With ThermalCUBE™ Battery technology the advantages enjoyed by the utility within the district system can be enjoyed outside the service area of the chilled water loop in any scale of building.
